The Caffe Via d'Oro has reopened the doors after a year-long renovation. The process involved gutting both floors of the building and starting over.  Everything in the building has been updated.

Featured in the restaurant is a beautiful mural that depicts life around the Sutter Creek area and was painted by Greg Bowman and Carol Clark, artists and owners of Wonder Faux.   The decor also includes the stunning wood work, designed and built by John LaSage of Wood Wizard in Sutter Creek.  Special ceiling materials were used to improve the sound and ambience of the restaurant.

The restaurant has a banquet room that holds up to 35 people and a wine cellar that accommodates about eighteen to twenty people.

Our Chef De Cuisine, Paul Wahlstrom worked for the Caffe with the previous owners and again we were happy that he decided to work for us.  Paul started the Thursday Night dinners and is in charge of the “international cuisine” every Thursday.  His choices from different countries are very exciting – you never know what will be on the menu that night.

Jim Swink, our Manager has worked for us for a few years.  Jim’s first job in the industry was as a dishwasher and moved up to busing and serving and now management.  He is quoted to say “I took a break for eleven to twelve years, but now I’m back in the business and plan to stay”!
